Location Habitat
Grass beds in up to 20 feet or so of water. Occurs in sea grass beds from near shore to at least 22 m. Small individuals have been known to form small aggregations. Feeds primarily on invertebrates.
Biology & Physical Description
Upper body greenish; silvery sides with dark blotches over sides and tail, often resembling a camouflage pattern. Dark vertical bar through eye. Usually has dark spot (larger than pupil) on lateral line just behind gill opening.
