Trip Information
We start our evening departing from Honokohau harbor on our comfortable U.S. Coast Guard certified vessel. The “Wicked Wahine” is a custom built 29 foot power boat. She has comfortable padded seating for 16, but we don’t take more than 14 guest. Upon arrival at the Manta site our captain (who has a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Marine Science) will give a brief talk about the Mantas and what to expect. You’ll get to watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean and maybe even see the elusive “green flash”. We will enter Kona’s warm, clear, illuminated water with our experienced guide who will escort you as you hold on to our custom “Light Board”. The lights on our board attract the plankton that the Mantas feed on.
