Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Baldwin Beach Park

The long, wide, curving white sand beach fronting Baldwin Beach Park begins a half-mile away at Wawau Point, passes the Maui Country Club and the beach park, and ends atKapukaulua Point. High, vegetated sand dunes form the backshore, with ironwood trees being the primary vegetation. The dunes level off as they approach the beach park. This beach is subject to high surf that generates a powerful shorebreak and strong rip currents. The ocean bottom is sandy and drops quickly to overhead depths. Lifeguards are stationed here daily. Check with them before going in the water. This beach is regarded as one of the best shorebreak bodyboarding and bodysurfing sites on Maui. Some swimming occurs along the beach, but it is usually concentrated at the west end, where a large section of beachrock at the water's edge forms a shallow, sand-bottomed pool. The shorebreak surf at the beach park primarily attracts bodysurfers and bodyboarders. Some surfing also occurs at the point, where waves break offshore on a small reef. Asone of the few shorebreak bodysurfing and bodyboarding sites on Maui, the park is often crowded, especially on weekends and holidays.

DT Fleming Beach

DT Fleming Beach is bordered by pine trees, palms, and naupaka plants. It is a beautiful spot to watch the ocean roll in as well as the surfers riding their boards. (This is actually a great surfing beach for advanced surfers.) Depending on the weather, this fairly long and wide expanse of sand can get a lot of wind and great waves. For calm days, there are picnic tables and BBQs, and plenty of gorgeous beach to lay out on. DT Fleming is one of the only west side beaches watched over by a lifeguard.

Ho'okipa Beach Park

Ho?okipa Beach Park, the original home of contemporary surfing on Maui, is one of the island's best-known shoreline landmarks. Maui Agriculture leased the land for the park to the County of Maui in 1933 and in a land exchange conveyed title to the Territory of Hawai?i in 1947. The name Ho?okipa means "hospitality." The surf offshore from Ho?okipa Beach Park provides surfers with waves almost all year round, as the reefs pick up both summer and winter swells. The most spectacular waves, however, occur during the winter and often reach heights of ten to fifteen feet. This tremendous surf is some of the best on Maui. Contemporary surfing got started on Maui at Ho?okipa in the early 1930s, and in 1935 a small group of surfers formed the Ho?okipa Surf Club. A small building that served as a clubhouse and a set of surfboard racks were donated and constructed in the park by Harold Rice. Foremost among the charter members were two brothers, Donald and Teruo Uchimura, who have both been avid surfers as well as great promoters of the sport of surfing since the founding of the club. The destructive tsunami of April 1, 1946, completely altered the natural features of the park. Many of the trees and most of the wide sand beach were lost, and the high seawall that now borders the seaward edge of the park was constructed to prevent further damage.

Honokeana Bay

Honokeana Bay is known for being a place where there is a very good chance you will encounter Green Sea Turtles. Obviously, turtles are wild animals, so there is no guarantee you will encounter them. With that said, time and time again, Many of our guests tell us they see tons of turtles at Honekeana Bay. The Green Sea Turtles love to eat the algae growing along the rocks in the shallow waters. This is a snorkel only spot because it has no beach to speak of and consists of a rocky shoreline.

Launiupoko Beach Park

Launiupoko is a shady and comfortable expanse of ocean side lawn, with all the amenities you might need for hanging out. There is a nice path for walking, jogging, or skateboarding, and there is plenty of space on the lawn for games of Frisbee or catch! There are no sandy areas here. Trees cover much of Launiupoko, and a perimeter of lava rocks touches down to the sea. Depending on conditions, it can be a great surf spot for advanced wave riders. While you’re enjoying the area, see if you can spot any sea turtles hanging out near the rocks!

Napili Beach

Napili Bay caresses a lovely arc of golden sand on Maui’s northwest coast. This bay is known to play host to bodyboarders, surfers, paddle boarders, and swimmers. The Sea House Restaurant rests beautifully at the north end of the bay, and several small resorts line the rest of the beach. Sea turtles are especially prevalent here at sunrise and sunset – great timing for you to take photos from shore. The fish congregate near the edges of the bay, where the reef has grown and their food and territory are located. If it’s encounters with marine life you’re after, the left side of Napili Bay is more interesting than the right. You will see needlefish, humuhumunukunukuapua’a, brown surgeonfish, and sometimes turtles. The center of the bay is all sand and, though a beautiful place, it is rare to see any fish there. You can enter Napili Bay almost anywhere on the beach, because the entire shoreline is sandy. Just an FYI: on both sides, you will find several concrete slabs – sometimes in very shallow water – about 10 yards from shore. If there is a lot of surfing going on here, it is a great day for surfer watching, but not so much for snorkeling. The great waves for them mean poor visibility for you. Napili Bay is a good place for kids to run around, play with boogie boards, and dig in the sand. One of the most prized West Maui beaches is the world famous Napili Bay. If you’re looking for a great snorkeling experience then definitely head here!. If you drive to Napili Bay, there is a carpark off the highway, but you’ll want to get there early for a spot. Or, take the bus from Whalers Village, the “Napili Islander, Route 30”, which will drop you off at Napili Village. Walk straight down from the road, to the public access path in between the condos, past a freshwater shower, and straight onto the beach. The best snorkeling spot is the far right of the beach, as it tends to be more sheltered here. You’ll be tickled to find a nice gathering of the shimmery silver needle fish, and a small array of the common place Maui reef fish. For the adventuresome and proficient swimmers, the left side of the bay has some good little rocky alcoves and reefs with reef fish, but because it tends to be quite choppy, visibility is cloudy and not worth risking a lashing on the rocks.
